bauma" is the largest and most important leading trade fair in the construction machinery sector. This trade fair is also held every three years and is organized by the "Neue Messe München" on the former Munich-Riem airport site. Until 1995, it was held centrally at the Theresienwiese in Munich, then in 1998 for the first time at the new exhibition center in Riem. The exhibition area is regularly enlarged and today extends far beyond the original exhibition grounds.
All manufacturers develop and present product innovations at and for "bauma" because the proportion of international visitors and exhibitors is simply disproportionately high and potential customers from overseas can be addressed who are otherwise not so easy to reach.
The trade fair covers the entire hall area and the outdoor area. Suppliers are mainly to be found in the halls, while construction machinery manufacturers repeatedly set up a new trade fair city in the outdoor area for the trade fair.
