The compactor precisely works out the compaction on its tracks. Deep compaction is necessary here in Regensburg to create a 2,000 m² parking space for vehicles. The Weycor AW 1070 compactor from Atlas Weyhausen is in operation. The 7.1-tonner is equipped with a 54 kW/73.4 hp engine. It compacts loamy soil. It is important that this is done as deeply and evenly as possible. A compaction amplitude of 1.6 to 0.7 mm, a frequency of 30 or 40 Hz and a centrifugal force of 120 or 90 kN are available for this.
Compaction control
The Weycor CompDoc measuring and recording system is used to obtain reliable information on how and where compaction is taking place. All information is computer-controlled and transmitted to the LCD display in the driver's cab, where it is presented clearly and concisely. The sensor registers the vibration behavior of the drum and calculates the value for the relative compaction at the time of rolling. The driver is thus informed at all times about the current values for compaction, skip mode, amplitude, frequency and speed. This is very important on this construction site because the sub-base layers consist of different materials and are partially mixed with rock. This makes it very challenging to compact with the same quality over the entire area. The monitoring log shows that this is successful.
CompDoc is very easy to use: start the engine, satellite reception is displayed and you can get started without any further input. Recording starts automatically as soon as the vibration is started.
One device for many machines

Eine Reihe von Daten wird gleichzeitig ausgewertet: dynamische Überfahrten, Verdichtungszuwachs, Messfahrt (Plattendruckversuch am Ende der Verdichtungsarbeit) und klassischer Plattendruckversuch. In Summe bedeutet dies, dass ohne zusätzlichen Aufwand ein korrekter Verdichtungsnachweis über die gesamte Fläche erbracht werden kann.
Robust and comfortable
Weycor compactors from Atlas Weyhausen are extremely robust thanks to their design and manufacture. For maximum stability, the entire front frame - with the exception of the cross beams - is welded. All Weycor compactors, including this Weycor AW 1070, are equipped with robust, maintenance-free articulated pendulum joints. They allow the front and rear carriage to run in one track, resulting in a particularly low center of gravity. The articulation angle of this joint system is 35°, the pendulum angle 12°. This enables excellent maneuverability.
The standard no-spin axle with permanent differential lock ensures perfect traction and climbing ability. There is no one-sided wheel spin. An ingenious technical solution is that the lock is automatically released if the wheel speeds are different when cornering and is only reactivated when the wheels are running synchronously again.
Best workplace
The ROPS cab provides the driver with an excellent workplace. The doors open to the rear and can be latched. Visibility from the all-glass cab is excellent all round. This naturally includes rear window heating, large mirrors and four work lights. The three-way adjustable steering column and ergonomic joystick with predefined engine speeds also come as standard. The fact that the drive power is reduced on difficult surfaces makes life easier for the driver. The dual pump system and infinitely variable traction control automatically ensure maximum possible traction on the axle and drum without the driver having to intervene.
