Partnership strengthens product range of compact wheel loaders

WILDESHAUSEN - The successful cooperation between Zeppelin Baumaschinen and Atlas Weyhausen in the field of compact wheel loaders in Germany is now being continued in Austria. In a targeted expansion of the product range below the 6.5-ton class, Zeppelin is launching four models on the Austrian market. These include three wheel loaders with an operating weight of 2.5 to 4.9 tons and a telescopic wheel loader with an operating weight of 6 tons. The Weycor machines, specially configured for Zeppelin and branded in Zeppelin's own layout, will be available from January 1, 2024. The models will be marketed under the designations ZL25, ZL35, ZL45 and ZL60T and are manufactured by Atlas Weyhausen in Wildeshausen, where they are known as the Weycor AR320, AR380, AR400 and AR480T.

The new addition to the product family was presented for the first time at this year's Agritechnica. The Zeppelin ZL60T telescopic wheel loader, known at Atlas Weyhausen as the Weycor AR480T, caused quite a stir and was perceived as an absolute highlight not only by Zeppelin, but also by the numerous trade fair visitors. Holger Schulz, CEO of Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH, emphasized that the ZL60T was not only a trade fair innovation, but actually a world premiere. Agritechnica therefore offered the first opportunity to present this model to the public.

To kick off the cooperation, Klaus Brunkhorst, Managing Director and Niels Mansholt, Sales Manager for the DACH region of Atlas Weyhausen, visited the Zeppelin stand to inspect the new construction machines in the unmistakable yellow Zeppelin design. Klaus Brunkhorst emphasized that he is convinced that customers in the German and Austrian markets as well as both companies will benefit significantly from this strategic partnership. He emphasized the high-quality development and production of Weycor construction machines at Atlas Weyhausen, as well as Zeppelin's strong market presence and efficient service.

The cooperation partners recognize considerable market potential for the compact machines in the agricultural sector, in addition to the construction industry. The ZL60T telescopic wheel loader, which has an operating weight of 6 tons and an engine output of 55.4 kW (75.3 hp), is particularly important. This telescopic wheel loader has a telescopic arm that can be extended up to 4.6 meters with a pallet fork. With a bucket, the all-terrain machine can even reach a height of up to 4.8 meters.

The ZL60T, which is almost identical to the Weycor AR480T, not only impresses with its lifting height, but also with its high breakout forces and easy handling. The hydraulic quick coupler enables tools to be exchanged quickly and easily. The telescopic wheel loader's maintenance points are also easily accessible, which makes daily maintenance checks easier. In terms of digitalization, the ZL60T, like the other three compact wheel loaders, sets standards in the construction industry. A telematics box is integrated into the telescopic wheel loader and provides information on location, operating hours, load and idling behavior.

Stephan Bothen, Zeppelin Managing Director in Austria, is delighted with the start of the cooperation with Atlas Weyhausen in Austria. The introduction of the new Zeppelin wheel loaders makes it possible to expand the product portfolio in the area of compact wheel loaders, which are in high demand. The ZL60T in the telehandler segment in particular represents an innovative addition. Bothen sees the cooperation as an opportunity to serve the increasing demand for compact wheel loaders even better and is looking forward to a strong partnership with Atlas Weyhausen.

"Following the successful start in Germany, we are delighted to be able to expand our cooperation to Austria. The strong partnership with Zeppelin promises a promising future for both companies," explains Klaus Brunkhorst, Managing Director of Atlas Weyhausen.
