Wildeshausen, Lower Saxony – Atlas Weyhausen is celebrating its 55th anniversary and looking back on a success story characterized by innovative spirit, engineering expertise, and a deep-rooted sense of responsibility toward customers, employees, and the region. For over 55 years, the company has been developing and manufacturing high-quality wheel loaders under the Weycor brand at its Wildeshausen site – "made in Germany" and used worldwide.
Tradition meets the future
The company's roots date back to 1919, when Hinrich Weyhausen KG was founded. With the introduction of the ATLAS brand name in 1936, a success story in the field of construction machinery began that continues to this day.
1970 saw a decisive milestone: Dr. Friedrich Weyhausen founded the independent wheel loader division—the starting point for today's Atlas Weyhausen. Since then, numerous milestones have shaped the company, including:
- 1975 – Introduction of a groundbreaking hydrostatic drive concept
- 1994 – Acquisition of the Hungarian production plant Kapos Atlas Kft.
- 1998 – Modern wheel loader concept with new cab, 360° visibility, and ergonomic design
- 2009 – The Dr. Friedrich Weyhausen Foundation takes over the role of shareholder
- 2016 – Renaming of the brand to Weycor – signaling independence and autonomy. The first syllable of the word weycor is derived from the name of the founding family, Weyhausen. The second syllable comes from the Latin word "cor" (heart).
- 2017 – Introduction of the 6XX performance class (up to 16 tons operating weight)
- 2022 – Expansion of the site with the opening of the innovation center in Wildeshausen
- 2025 – Strategic realignment under new management

Since 1993, it has been manufacturing high-quality welded steel structures, components, and assemblies for construction machinery and commercial vehicles—from individual parts to complete modules. Its high level of vertical integration and quality make Kapos Atlas an indispensable partner and strengthen the performance of Weycor wheel loaders.
