Dr. Friedrich Weyhausen used pencils until they were sharpened down to a small stump. Physical proof of this can be found in the drawer of the desk that he continued to sit at once or twice a week until his death in December 2009.

A red pencil stump is symbolic of the ideological legacy left to ATLAS WEYHAUSEN by its founder, Dr. Friedrich Weyhausen. Essentially, it involves the principles of cost economy, social responsibility, business idealism, an uncompromising belief in the company’s products, employees and quality, and the company’s inalienability. It was the last wish of the company’s founder and director to ensure that these principles be safeguarded for all time through the establishment of a foundation in his name, the Dr. Friedrich Weyhausen Foundation.
